So my day today started out with waking up at a super late 8'oclock start with only an hour and a half before today's ride. I was really looking forward to this because we got an opportunity to ride with a retired pro triathlete! How awesome is that? Very. As we start out at 9:30, Bruce decides to come hot out of the gate, and I mean HOT! We haven't had any time to warm up so we were already hurting. The pace we kept throughout the whole ride was intense! It was good though, something to break yourself out of the daily routine. About 7 miles in, whew I so wanted to be done! The gas tank was totally out of gas, and my legs were in a lot of pain but I still had to push on. Once we got the the only hill of the climb, I decided hey now would be a good time and have a little fun so I attacked. Good idea in my head, bad idea with my legs. For the first 5 seconds of the attack I felt great, but then afterwards I had to sit down. Then on the way back Bruce decided to do some sprint work. I think I have a new found love for sprints. It showed me that even though I was downright tired, I still had some gas left in me somewhere! To make a long story short, I had a lot of fun on the ride today, and learned a lot!
PEACE!
